Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities by cold calling, networking, and attending industry events to generate leads in the metal fabrication market
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored metal fabrication solutions to foster long-term partnerships
Develop and execute effective sales strategies, including market analysis, pricing negotiations, and competitive positioning to achieve revenue goals
Act as a tenacious closer by leading negotiations, overcoming objections, and sealing deals with a focus on high-value contracts in metal fabrication projects, ensuring quick and efficient conversion of leads to sales
Manage and mentor a team of sales representatives, providing guidance on closing techniques and performance metrics to drive team success
Gather and analyze regional market data, including customer feedback and competitor activities, to improve sales processes and identify growth areas
Track sales performance, prepare reports on key metrics such as revenue, pipeline status, and customer acquisition, and forecast future sales trends
Utilize in-depth knowledge of metallurgy, fabrication techniques (e.g., CNC machining, laser cutting), and industry applications to educate clients and demonstrate value
Conduct frequent on-site visits to clients and prospects, requiring up to 50-70% travel within assigned territories
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5+ years in outside sales, with at least 3 years in the metal fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
Proven experience as an aggressive closer with a history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
Exceptional closing abilities, with a persistent and assertive approach to negotiations
Strong communication and presentation skills for pitching complex fabrication solutions
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesmate) and sales analytics tools
Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards (e.g., ISO certifications)
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with internal teams like engineering and production
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively
Self-motivated, goal-driven, and resilient, with a hunter mentality focused on winning deals
Must thrive in competitive environments and demonstrate ethical sales practices
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in sales or metal fabrication will be considered
