Responsibilities
Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance
Coordination with drilling contractors, supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations, logging of borings and test pits
Assist with lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results
Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth
Retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation
Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports
Qualification
Required
4-6 years of geotechnical engineering or geology experience
Self-motivated
Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in execution of field investigation and potential construction oversight
Assist with review and compilation of geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results
Perform geotechnical analyses and report writing
Assist with lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results
Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation
Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports
Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors
This position will require 60% to 70% travel
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology
Preferred
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point
MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus
