Retail Banking Business Relationship Officer

The Washington Trust Company is seeking an experienced Retail Banking Business Relationship Officer to support their Retail Banking Team and develop new and existing consumer and business banking relationships. This role involves collaborating with branch staff and business partners to provide banking solutions and generate new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

Work with business partners to take the lead or assist on new business opportunities
Generate a book of prospects/existing profitable small business and consumer deposits and loans
Determine customers' financial service needs and prepare proposals to offer services that address these needs
Refer, cross-sell, and build cross-divisional relationships. Facilitate joint calling efforts as necessary
Team up with branches to onboard new business acquired from referrals or own leads that result in booked business
Utilize the Bank's Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) for client activity tracking, call reports and pipeline management. Complete administrative responsibilities weekly
Network with related industry segments, key customers, and COIs to generate prospect leads and develop referral opportunities that lead to new business
Attend and participate in community and/or specific industry forums, conferences and/or meetings to broaden relationship networks and continually deepen knowledge of trends, practices, services, and the competitive landscape

Required

10 plus years of proven sales experience, preferably in a banking environment
Outstanding interpersonal/communication skills (written/verbal) with the ability to communicate with bank customers, business owners, branch employees and internal departments
Ability to collaborate with internal business partners to identify potential prospects and cultivate relationships
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to navigate various software systems
