Sales Engineer

Lenze Americas Corporation is a global manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives, motion control, and automation technology. The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving new customer acquisitions and expanding existing OEM accounts by identifying new business opportunities, executing strategic sales plans, and delivering technical presentations.

Responsibilities

Proactively pursue new OEM customer opportunities and develop strategic plans to penetrate new accounts and grow market share
Conduct prospecting activities like cold calls and networking and collaborating with local channel managers and distribution networks when appropriate
Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations and work with local application engineering resources to meet customers' technical needs
Strengthen relationships with existing customers to uncover new applications and upselling opportunities
Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions and expand wallet share within current accounts
Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address issues to ensure long-term loyalty
Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities and manage them through the sales cycle
Achieve or exceed annual sales targets
Provide accurate sales forecasts and market intelligence to leadership
Coordinate technical resources for customers, highlighting how the customer will benefit from a Lenze solution
Stay current on product developments, industry trends, and competitor offerings
Support product launches and customer onboarding with hands-on technical guidance
Work closely with product management, engineering, and marketing to align customer needs with company capabilities
Document customer interactions, feedback, and sales activities in CRM systems
Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree or related work experience
5+ years of technical sales or related experience
Demonstrated success hunting new OEM customers and expanding sales at existing accounts
History of documented sales growth in similar role
Strong understanding of gearmotors, VFD's, servo drive systems and/or general motion control
Proven experience in technical sales, or business development within the automation sector
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with engineering teams and decision-makers
Skilled in pipeline management and CRM usage
Willingness to travel 30% of the time for customer visits, trade shows, and training sessions
Skilled in managing complex commercial situations

Preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP, preferred
