Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies focused on maximizing earned media coverage and achieving measurable PR outcomes
Craft and deliver compelling pitches to journalists and media outlets across various platforms, securing high-impact placements that drive brand awareness and thought leadership
Provide media training and coaching to spokespeople within the organization, ensuring they are well-prepared for media interactions and effectively deliver key messages
Plan and execute media events, including press conferences, interviews, and media briefings, maximizing earned media opportunities
Monitor media coverage, track earned media value, and analyze trends to inform future media relations efforts and measure the effectiveness of campaigns
Assist in developing and executing crisis communications plans, providing media relations support during critical situations, and mitigating negative earned media impact
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior media relations staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment focused on achieving earned media goals

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
2-4+ years of experience in media relations or a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of securing high-profile earned media coverage
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling pitches and narratives that resonate with journalists and target audiences, leading to earned media placements
Established relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers across various media platforms, enabling effective earned media outreach
Proven experience in providing effective media training and coaching to spokespeople
Ability to think strategically and develop creative media relations plans that generate significant earned media value and achieve measurable results
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment focused on earned media success
Experience in handling media relations during crisis situations, with the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, minimizing negative earned media impact
Experience in tracking and analyzing earned media value and using data to inform media relations strategies and measure success
