P&C Lead Field Technician
Shermco Industries is seeking a Protection & Controls (P&C) Technician. The role involves the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relay equipment and associated circuitry, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with clients regarding testing activities.

Responsibilities
Installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relay equipment, powerline carrier equipment, digital fault recorders (DFR’s), remote terminal units (RTU’s), and communication processors
Functional testing for protection and control circuitry associated with transmission lines, HV bus, transformer, circuit breaker, feeder, reactors, and capacitor banks
RTU and telecom upgrades for various clients
Experienced with SEL microprocessor relays such as 311C, 311L, 387, 411L, 421, 487B, 487E, 487V, 587, 587Z, and 787
Desired experienced with GE microprocessor relays such as C30, D60, F35, L90, T35 and T60
Required experienced with various RTU’s and communication processors such as GE, Telvent, SEL, Cooper, and Novatech
Accurately reviewing, documenting, and submitting test reports used for client reporting and regulatory purposes
Interpret one line, three line, wiring, schematic diagrams, communication configurations with ability to recognize and bring attention to discrepancies
Accurately completes time and expense reports along with maintaining good condition of assigned company vehicle

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required
Pass pre-employment drug test, and periodic unannounced drug tests
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check with 7 year history
Have a valid drivers license and meet minimum motor vehicle insurability standards
Take and pass 30 hour OSHA training
Ability to work in a field environment subject to changing outdoor conditions
Work overtime as needed and willingness to travel extensively to client work locations
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
