Internship - Mechanical Engineering
ASML US is a leader in developing lithography machines for microchip production. They are offering a summer internship for mechanical engineering students to support the Cymer DUV Mechanical Engineering team, focusing on complex engineering systems and excimer laser technology.

Responsibilities
Key areas for support are mechanical design and analysis of parts and assemblies
Integration, characterization, and testing of excimer laser parts, assemblies, and modules
Finite element analysis, computational flow dynamics; structural dynamics, vibrational characterization
Collection and documentation of mechanical engineering best practices
Internship project responsibilities can be partially determined by the candidate's interest area(s) and background
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum 60 hours completed towards a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field and an expected graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027
Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work
Can learn and apply new information or skills
Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents
Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism
Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads
Result driven-demonstrate ownership and accountability
Identifies bottlenecks and drives improvements
Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
Demonstrate open, clear, concise and professional communication
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and customer
Work according to a strict set of procedures within the provided timelines
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work
Preferred
Some experience / knowledge of / familiar with designing or working with mechanical parts (machined, sheet metal, molded) and mechanical assemblies
Some experience / knowledge of / familiar with CAD software packages (solid modeling and detailed drawings), Creo preferred
Some experience / knowledge of / familiar with finite element analysis (FEA) software packages, ANSYS or Creo preferred
Hands on fabrication and integration of mechanical assemblies or mechanisms is a plus
Some understanding and exposure to manufacturing equipment would be ideal (CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, etc.)
