Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert in structural and seismic analysis for commercial, industrial, and nuclear facilities
Apply advanced techniques including Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI), seismic code interpretation, and specialized structural design tools
Contribute to a diverse range of projects—from commercial buildings to nuclear material facilities and Small Modular Reactor (SMR) designs
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, resilient, and innovative engineering solutions

Required

Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
B.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school
15+ years of post-education experience
A PE or SE is required with ability to obtain a new state license as required
Perform Engineer of Record duties as assigned
Ability to perform advanced linear analysis, non-linear structural analysis, soil structure interaction analysis and generate requisite data such as floor response spectra. Provide evidence of performing analysis for at least one project
Be subject matter expert with steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design
Experience implementing local and national code such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC N690, ACI 349, ASCE 4, ASCE 43, DOE-STD-1020, NRC, etc
Ability to follow and implement established NQA-1 quality procedures and ensure that all work accomplished is procedurally compliant
Subject Matter Expert in use of finite element software such as STAAD.pro, SAP2000, SASSI, or ANSYS
Be software owner and perform validation and verification tasks for design software
Competence using Microsoft Office software

Preferred

Nuclear Code Committee voting member in ASCE 4, ASCE 43, AISC N690, ACI 349 (or equivalent)
Competent using Revit, AutoCAD, or MicroStation software
DOE Q clearance
DOE and NRC experience
Reside within a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office
