Sr. Structural Engineer (Substation)
NV5 is a company that specializes in substation engineering, providing comprehensive solutions to enhance performance and reliability. The Sr. Structural Engineer will take ownership of physical substation projects, providing technical oversight and direct client communication while managing construction activities.
Responsibilities
Act as the responsible engineer and client point of contact for substation power delivery projects
Assist in marketing and promotion efforts to add new regional clients
Prepare, review, and P.E. seal technical calculation reports and construction documents meeting client and NV5 requirements
Develop your career via peer-learning through sharing knowledge with other experienced engineers and train and mentor junior staff
Travel to client sites as needed
Mentor junior staff
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering or related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required
5+ years of progressive in structural design engineering experience within substation or transmission line projects
Experience with at least one of the following: RISA, MathCAD, and/or PLS software suite
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
Preferred
M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred
Other structural design experience (i.e. bridges, or building design) is a plus
Physical substation design experience is strongly preferred
