Responsibilities
Edit YouTube-first educational content that aligns with Duolingo’s brand, mission, and learning philosophy
Craft narratives with strong pacing, clear hooks, and retention-driven creative choices
Deliver polished long-form content, cutdowns, short-form clips, and community assets
Work with producers and creative partners to refine story arcs and experiment with new formats
Maintain organized project timelines and file structures for consistent, efficient delivery
Use performance insights to evolve editing style and optimize content for engagement and reach
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of professional editing experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling craft
Deep proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or comparable editing software
Strong understanding of YouTube pacing, structure, retention tactics, and platform best practices
Experience editing educational, narrative, branded, or documentary-style content
Detail-oriented with excellent taste, creative instincts, and a high bar for polish
Collaborative and adaptable, comfortable working in fast-moving production cycles
Passionate about making learning fun, accessible, and visually compelling for global audiences
Preferred
Experience with graphic design or YouTube thumbnail creation (design + typography)
