Responsibilities

Sets-up and operates machines in area assigned, performing duties with little or no supervision

Obtains prints, tools, collets, wheels, gaging and fixtures as required, changes and replaces tools as required to assure parts are produced in accordance with tolerances and specifications as called for on blue print

Reads and understands work instructions, GD&T and blueprints

Assures compliance with job specifications by inspecting parts as produced using micrometers, verniers, gages and/or other measuring equipment

Diagnoses and corrects machining programs. Reports any problems, difficulties immediately to lead/supervisor

Maintains area, equipment and tools in neat, orderly condition. Performs basic machine maintenance such as removing chips, adding coolant, etc

Maintains records or other data as required

Assists in training other operators

Ability to operate support equipment as necessary for department

Responsible for production quantity, quality and good machining practices

Observes all company policies, rules and regulations including attendance, adhering to specified break schedule, good housekeeping, safety and security

Ability to operate multiple machines simultaneously

Performs other duties as required, assigned or directed
