Responsibilities

Analyze Drive, PLC/HMI & motor application problems and initiate effective measures for their solution. Coordinate activities with related groups to most efficiently achieve objectives to ensure customer satisfaction. Prioritize, schedule, delegate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate support for the application of ABB PLC/HMIs, Low Voltage drives and motors in focused applications
Customer Relations – Continuously strengthen existing customer relationships. Take the initiative to get to know new customers. Follow-up on customer complaints in a timely manner according to a defined process. Identify and meet customer needs and ask for feedback. Understand commercial, technical & product initiatives, develop plans to communicate and promote them
Apply Technical Knowledge – Design and recommend tailored solutions based on a deep knowledge of the portfolio and capabilities to meet the OEMs’ unique needs. Contribute to specification by negotiating deviations and agreeing on win-win solutions. Identify and communicate applicability of (new/emerging) functional solutions to address current business issues. Advise others on the delivery of high-quality solutions by applying broad and deep domain expertise
Support the Channel team with customer presentations and demonstrations by serving as the product expert through strong solution competence. Support development and delivery of application specific or advanced technical training for OEM partners Strengthen technical competence within the Channel

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field plus 6+ years' experience in the application of low voltage drives, OR Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field AND 8+ years' experience in the application of low voltage drives
Experience and deep understanding of Compressors
Experience programming various industrial PLCs (ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Square D, or others), and understanding of Serial and Ethernet communication protocols
Ability to effectively present information, and address inquiries or complaints to top management, customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
This role requires >60% travel domesticate travel across the United States to customer, 3rd party/vendor and internal sites. Candidate must have a valid driver's license
Candidate must already possess a work authorization that would allow them to legally work for ABB in the United States

Preferred

Knowledge of applications like Pump & Fan, Extruder, Crane, Hoists & Winches, Centrifuge and General Machinery is a plus
Understanding of Automation Builder, Panel Builder, AC500 PLC and CP600 HMIs
