Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of Research Services and library operations for the New York and Boston offices, ensuring strong coverage, rapid response times, and consistently high-quality service, including support for urgent after-hours requests
Conduct non-legal research, including ready reference and in-depth inquiries across corporate transactional, litigation, intellectual property, and news/media areas
Manage the New York Research Services team, including recruiting, training, day-to-day supervision, and performance feedback to ensure continued growth and excellence
Deliver Research Services onboarding and coordinate database training for new attorneys and legal staff to build firmwide research proficiency
Actively market Research Services offerings, build strong relationships across practice groups, and increase visibility of team capabilities
Qualification
Required
Masters Library Science (MLS) or equivalent degree required
Ability to shift quickly between priorities, exercise sound judgment, and apply critical thinking in dynamic environments
Strong ability to work with individuals at all levels and build trusted partnerships across the firm
Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy, accountability, and high professional standards
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, time-management, planning, and communication skills
A self-starter who anticipates needs, solves problems efficiently, and contributes to a high-performing, collegial environment
Preferred
5+ years of law firm library & research experience is preferred
Expertise in corporate, litigation and intellectual property research is preferred
