The US Oncology Network is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Lab Assistant to join their dedicated team at Southern Cancer Center in Foley. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, performing basic analysis, maintaining lab equipment, and supporting patient flow to ensure accurate and timely lab results.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens from patients as ordered
Document and process lab results according to established procedures
Perform basic analysis of chemistry, hematology, and immunology specimens
Maintain lab inventory and ensure supply viability
Send specimens to reference labs and chart incoming results
Operate and maintain lab equipment under CLIA guidelines
Perform phlebotomy and sample collection as needed
Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety protocols
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Required

High School diploma or equivalent required
0–3 years of relevant experience (entry-level welcome!)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Comfortable working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to biohazards
Requires manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Exposure to patients, blood/body fluids, and laboratory chemicals
Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods and maintain a clean, organized workspace
