Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Nuclear Engineering

The University of Utah’s John and Marcia Price College of Engineering is inviting applications for a career-line lecturer faculty position in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a focus on Nuclear Engineering. The role requires dynamic educators to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nuclear engineering and core civil and environmental engineering topics, while also contributing to curriculum development and student mentorship.

Financial Services

Responsibilities

Teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in nuclear engineering, including (but not limited to) nuclear fundamentals, nuclear reactor theory, radiation detection, and the nuclear fuel cycle
Offer key core undergraduate courses in civil and environmental engineering, such as statics and fluid mechanics, in rotation with colleagues
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous course improvement, mentor and advise students, and actively engage in departmental service and outreach activities

Required

Ph.D. in nuclear engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field by the start date
