Responsibilities

Lead initiatives embedded within a collaborative Quality Department that supports a designated Stroke Center, a high-performing Cardiac Center, and a strong orthopedics program
Align infection control practices across neuro, cardiac, surgical, and musculoskeletal service lines, advancing evidence-based bundles, perioperative asepsis, and post-acute transitions to reduce HAIs and improve patient safety metrics
Report to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety while partnering closely with friendly nurses and a diverse team of physicians, infection preventionists, data analysts, microbiology, environmental services, sterile processing, and facilities
Lead surveillance and rounding, outbreak investigations, water safety and construction risk assessments, device-associated infection prevention (CLABSI, CAUTI, VAE), hand hygiene performance, regulatory readiness (CMS, TJC, OSHA), NHSN reporting, policy development, staff education, and continuous improvement projects that drive measurable results

Required

Experience in infection prevention and control
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (CMS, TJC, OSHA)
Ability to lead surveillance and rounding
Experience with outbreak investigations
Knowledge of water safety and construction risk assessments
Experience in device-associated infection prevention (CLABSI, CAUTI, VAE)
Ability to monitor hand hygiene performance
Experience with NHSN reporting
Ability to develop policies
Experience in staff education
Ability to drive continuous improvement projects
Strong collaboration skills with diverse teams including nurses, physicians, and data analysts
