The University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a highly motivated Business Operations Associate II to support the administrative, business, and research operations of the Department of Medicine. Responsibilities

Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant proposals, contracts, and clinical trial applications, ensuring all components meet sponsor requirements and institutional policies
Serve as a primary liaison between principal investigators (PIs), department leadership, campus research administration, and external sponsors
Manage deadlines and submission timelines to prevent delays or disqualifications; maintain proficiency with portals such as NIH ASSIST, Grants.gov, and ClinicalTrials.gov
Review and ensure accuracy in budgets, budget justifications, biosketches, and administrative documents
Identify and resolve potential compliance issues, including effort commitments, subaward documentation, cost-sharing, and regulatory requirements
Assist investigators in navigating complex funding mechanisms to improve submission quality and increase the likelihood of successful awards
Provide high-level administrative, operational, and business support to the division and department
Assist with purchasing, reimbursements, travel coordination, and reconciliation of expenses
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support both research and general administrative functions
Support onboarding for new research faculty and research staff
Utilize university systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, eCompliance, eProcurement) to complete business transactions accurately and efficiently

Required

A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
