Intern, Computational and Applied Mathematics
SRI International is an independent nonprofit research institute seeking a Summer Intern to conduct research and development in the areas of mathematics of generative AI models and scalable graph analysis methods. The intern will work on developing new algorithms for various applications and assist in commercializing relevant technologies.

Responsibilities
Training generative AI models
Experience with Reinforcement Learning approaches and theory
Designing and implementing distributed algorithms for large graphs
Assist in developing research ideas
Instantiate the approaches in prototype software
Lead the experimental evaluation of these ideas, compile results, and communicate the results in presentations
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering with a focus on computational sciences or a related area
Experience with Reinforcement Learning approaches and theory
Designing and implementing distributed algorithms for large graphs
Assist in developing research ideas
Instantiate the approaches in prototype software
Lead the experimental evaluation of these ideas, compile results, and communicate the results in presentations
Preferred
Experience with implementing scalable software associated with generative AI models, scalable graph analysis methods, and network sciences
Some publications in algorithm development associated with artificial intelligence and graph theory
