They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer contractor to develop robotic and automated hardware systems, transition products into production, and define engineering requirements for complex systems.

Responsibilities
Work with our team in Milpitas, CA
Develop robotic and/or automated hardware systems
Transition complex electromechanical products from early concept into production
Define engineering requirements and hardware architecture for complex systems
Design molded, sheet metal and machined components
Specify and source off-the-shelf components (e.g. actuators, bearings, fluid handling components)
Develop high quality CAD models and 2D fabrication drawings
Conduct tolerance analysis, FEA and/or CFD, and strength of materials analysis
Perform heat transfer and shock & vibration analysis
Participate in hands-on systems bring-up and integration with a cross functional team
Qualification
Required
8+ years of design and engineering analysis experience w/ a BSME or equivalent
Demonstrated success developing robotic and/or automated hardware systems
Experience transitioning complex electromechanical products from early concept into production
Experience defining engineering requirements and hardware architecture for complex systems
Knowledge of designing molded, sheet metal and machined components
Experience with mechanisms
Adept at specifying and sourcing off-the-shelf components (e.g. actuators, bearings, fluid handling components)
Proficient with SolidWorks
On-the-job experience in high quality CAD model development and 2D fabrication drawings
On-the-job experience in tolerance analysis
On-the-job experience in FEA and/or CFD
On-the-job experience in strength of materials
On-the-job experience in heat transfer
On-the-job experience in shock & vibration
On-the-job experience in hands-on systems bring-up and integration with a cross functional team
