Responsibilities
Helping our clients sleep better at night knowing their US taxes are in good hands
Reviewing documents and extracting necessary income and expense details
Documenting calculations and preparing accurate and timely US individual tax returns for clients
Responding to client questions about tax returns
Applying international tax rules to client situations and developing expertise in the international tax rules affecting our clients
Some (supervised and supported) research on certain tax situations
Utilizing our project management system to track progress on returns
Learning and applying changes in international US tax laws
Building relationships with clients to enable us to provide a personalized boutique tax preparation experience, even as we grow and take on more clients
Assisting team members in their learning and application of new skills related to international US tax preparation
Providing quality and prompt customer service for client inquiries
Working as a team player while supporting the continued growth of the firm
Additional job duties and/or projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Background in science, engineering, technology, or law
Analytical skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with team members
Experience or willingness to learn international tax rules
Ability to utilize project management systems
Excellent customer service skills
Detail-oriented
Ability to follow streamlined procedures
Passion for learning new things
Ability to work in a fully remote environment
Willingness to participate in scheduled team meetings and training
Preferred
German language skill is a bonus, but not required as long as you're willing to learn how to understand German tax forms
