Dentist (General Practice - Dentistry)
USAJOBS is seeking a Dentist (General Practice-Dentistry) for a Defense Health Agency Medical Treatment Facility. The incumbent will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental care, including restorative, surgical, and preventive services.

Responsibilities
Restoration using direct (amalgams, composites, sealants) and indirect (crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays) dental restorative materials
Perform comprehensive oral examinations
Perform oral surgery procedures, such as removal of erupted and unerupted teeth, residual root tips, and teeth with exposed roots
Apply corrective treatment where proper occlusion is difficult to attain
Perform prophylaxis treatment, scaling and root planning, individual oral health counseling and patient education
Perform prosthetic work to replace missing teeth
Qualification
Required
Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE)
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
Completed a 3-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science, or have three years of professional dentistry experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-12), or a combination of both
Ability to distinguish shades of color
Ability to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance
Completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter
Lifting up to 40 pounds may be required
Mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements
Immunization screening is required, including Hepatitis B immunization
Tuberculosis testing is required
Submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment
Obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges
Required to wear Personnel Protective Equipment
