Responsibilities
Perform phlebotomy procedures such as venipuncture and puncture; determine type of specimen to be collected; and draw and/or collect blood samples for test procedures
Process specimens in accordance with the test procedure requirements
Greet and screen patients at the Laboratory Reception Desk, obtaining information to determine need, eligibility of care and priority for testing
Prepare samples for shipment by centrifuging sample and separating serum
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience performing blood collection on patients
Performing receptionist/administrative duties such as receiving patients and/or phone calls
Maintaining patient files OR utilizing office and/or clinical automation systems
Successfully completed a four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
A pre-placement medical examination is required
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
Direct deposit of pay is required
