Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems: Perform work on new and existing lines, circuits, panels, switchgear, and associated equipment (up to 600 volts), ensuring compliance with NEC, CFR, and NFPA codes
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues: Independently trace defects, test circuits, and complete repairs or installations, often in remote locations, with minimal supervision
Plan and lay out electrical projects: Use building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings to determine routing, placement, load balancing, and safe operation of electrical systems
Fabricate and install conduits and wiring: Accurately cut, thread, and install various types of conduit (RMC, EMT, PVC, etc.), wiring, fittings, and connections to support system integrity
Complete and document work orders: Ensure all assigned tasks are carried out, tested, and recorded accurately in accordance with established procedures and safety standards

Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
DIRECT DEPOSIT: Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program
HOUSING: Depending on location, government housing may be available
UNIFORM: You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided
WORK SCHEDULE: You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and/or shift work
You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle
DRIVER'S LICENSE: You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required
You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record
Applicants must be at least 18 years old
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and occasionally a weight greater than 50 pounds
A valid State-issued Journeyman Electrician License is required to safely perform the duties of this position
SELECTIVE FACTOR: You must possess a valid state-issued Journeyman Electrician License, required to safely perform the duties of this position
Ability to Do the Work of the Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT): Examples of qualifying experience include: (1) Installing, maintaining, and/or repairing electrical equipment; (2) applying the National Electric Code (NEC) to projects to select the correct materials and methods for an installation or repair; (3) bending and/or installing Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT, rigid, flex and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) conduits for installation of electrical systems; (4) utilizing mathematical formulas basic to the electrician trade to determine voltage and resistance

Ability to Use Electrical Drawings
