Project Manager - Applied Science and Innovation

Responsibilities

Maintain project documentation: assist with Gantt charts, trackers, RAID logs, action items, and deliverables
Prepare timelines using MS Project and standardized templates; surface delays and escalate as needed
Administer study intake, readiness checklists, and kickoff logistics
Liaise among study directors, technical teams, and support units to ensure communication and alignment
Support budget awareness and assist in coordination of financial reporting or resource planning activities
Lead cross-functional meetings: create agendas, drive discussion, capture outcomes, and track follow-ups
Independently develop and manage project timelines in MS Project; adjust based on real-time execution
Draft, review, and submit sponsor deliverables and reports in compliance with requirements and timelines
Provide feasibility inputs and generate detailed timelines during proposal development
Monitor and manage scope, schedule, and deliverables; identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Coordinate with QC/QA and regulatory staff to ensure adherence to protocols and compliance standards
Review study protocols, SOWs, contracts, and final reports for accuracy and alignment with requirements
Oversee sponsor-facing financial deliverables: coordinate with finance teams, monitor deadlines, and ensure accuracy prior to submission

Required

Bachelor's degree (STEM preferred)
Minimum of 2 years in a scientific, technical, or government research environment (e.g., project coordination, study execution, or research operations), ideally client-facing
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Has or is actively pursuing formal project management (PMP) certification
Proficiency in MS Project and Excel; familiarity with PM lifecycle and deliverable workflows
Proven experience independently managing sponsor-facing scientific projects
Skilled at managing scope, schedule, and budget across multiple concurrent studies
Proven ability to synthesize technical study protocols into actionable project plans, trackers, and sponsor deliverables
Familiarity with regulated research environments (GLP, BSL, FDA, NIH, DoD), and experience navigating compliance and documentation standards
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and situational judgment in complex, fast-paced environments

Preferred

PgMP or CAPM with extensive experience preferred
