Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an Applied Scientist to join their Generative AI Innovation Center. The role involves collaborating with customers to implement generative AI solutions, optimizing models, and contributing to innovative projects that address real-world challenges.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with AI/ML scientists and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate generative AI solutions to address real-world challenges
Interact with customers directly to understand their business problems, aid them in implementation of generative AI solutions, brief customers and guide them on adoption patterns and paths to production
Help customers optimize their solutions through approaches such as model selection, training or tuning, right-sizing, distillation, and hardware optimization
Provide customer and market feedback to product and engineering teams to help define product direction
Qualification
Required
3+ years of building models for business application experience
PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
Preferred
Experience using Unix/Linux
Experience in professional software development
Experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals, including architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization of model execution, or experience in development in the last 3 years
