Responsibilities
Development of electro-mechanical and embedded systems from concept to functional prototypes by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
Execute technical development/integration of electromechanical components, embedded systems and control algorithm development
Collaboratively create functional criteria and technical requirements
Perform and or coordinate validation testing and drive system-level improvements
Create system level schematics, diagrams and documentation
Conduct system modeling, simulation, and validation
Support multiple projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic technology roadmaps
Travel on location to support integration, testing and verification of concepts/proto types
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in embedded control systems principles, theories and concepts applied to vehicle chassis control and/or hydraulic & electronic actuators
Experience developing electro-mechanical components, assemblies and systems
Experience creating control algorithms utilizing rapid proto-typing hardware and software
Proficiency C, Python, Simulink programming languages
Proficiency working with CAN, CAN FD, ethernet, serial and other digital communication standards
Ability to understand electrical diagrams, schematics and other design documentation
Release designs following good documentation principles and configuration control methods
Experience with automotive chassis systems
Experience with CAD; 3D models, mechanical prints with GD&T
Fundamental mechanical analysis, including statics, dynamics, stress and thermal
Experience with suspension systems, shock absorbers and vehicle dynamics
Demonstrated excitement to learn and quickly examine tough technical problems
Basic project management (develop and maintain project scope, task lists, timelines)
Some experience leading departmental and cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives from concept to delivery
Excellent technical leadership ability
Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project goals
Understanding of all phases of the product development lifecycle including design, analysis, debug, verification, transfer to manufacturing, and sustainment
Strong interpersonal skills including ownership, self-motivated, problem solving, analytical, team player, innovative, creative, communication skills and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships
Passion for creating compelling and innovative product concepts with an excellent commitment to customer value
Preferred
B.S. or M.S in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Electrical or Computer Science Engineering
8+ years developing electro-mechanical components, assemblies and systems
5+ years of embedded systems engineering
