Responsibilities

Engages in structured rotations across different departments or areas to contribute and gain exposure to key functions, operational practices, and strategic priorities
Collaborates with project sponsors to define project scopes, timelines, identify resources and learning objectives; and meets regularly to assess progress and refine goals. Meets with mentor on a recurring basis
Leads, co-leads and takes ownership of at least one high-impact project from initiation to delivery that aligns with organizational priorities and drives meaningful outcomes in each rotation. This includes performing functions such as managing timelines and deliverables, analyzing workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and presenting actionable recommendations
Conducts data and operational analysis, prepares presentations, and develops reports and recommendations to support strategic and operational initiatives
Partners with rotation leaders and mentors to define goals for each experience and receive regular, constructive feedback. When working with leadership, may assess other situations, consider alternatives and determine appropriate courses of action for a project and/or an operational initiative
Builds relationships with stakeholders across the organization to gain insight into challenges, innovations, and best practices. Gains in-depth knowledge of day-to-day operations in primary placement rotation departments
Participates in executive and departmental leadership meetings to observe decision-making and contribute when appropriate. Shadows leaders to deepen understanding of institutional goals, programs, and impact
Develops key interpersonal, analytical, and management skills through hands-on experience and mentorship
In collaboration with mentors or preceptors, may define, plan and execute one capstone project or a workstream of a major organizational project aligned with organizational priorities; which may include co-leading or facilitating the completion of project deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful completion

Required

One (1) plus years of experience in business, healthcare, or a related field; this may include internships, practicum placements, or graduate assistantships completed in hospitals, health systems, physician groups, ambulatory settings, public health, health insurance, managed care, or healthcare consulting
Project-based experience; participated in or led capstone, consulting, or improvement projects during graduate school, preferably in a healthcare setting
Exposure to performance improvement methodologies
Leadership or campus involvement; held leadership roles in student organizations, graduate associations, case competitions, or community service with a health focus
Master's degree in Health Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), Health Science (MHS), Public Administration (MPA), Public Policy (MPP), Health Services Administration (MHSA) or a related field; before Fellowship begins
Candidates must have earned, or expect to earn, a graduate degree—MHA, MHS, MHSA, MPA, MPH, MPP, or MBA with a healthcare emphasis—from an accredited program between May 1, 2024, and June 30, 2026. Degrees conferred prior to May 1, 2024, are not eligible for consideration
