Project Manager - Electrical
Zekelman Industries is the largest independent steel pipe and tube manufacturer in North America, with a legacy dating back to 1877. They are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects, ensuring safe execution, on-time delivery, and client satisfaction while collaborating with various stakeholders. Responsibilities
Lead awarded electrical projects from preconstruction through final closeout to ensure successful delivery
Oversee schedules, labor and material budgets, subcontractor performance, and resource allocation to maintain project efficiency
Track and control project costs and labor, forecast expenditures, and ensure overall profitability
Develop and maintain accurate construction progress schedules using MS Projects or similar tools
Prepare and process change orders, as-built documentation, and project closeout materials
Develop and submit RFIs, submittals, and permitting documentation; coordinate inspections for compliance
Ensure all work is completed following internal safety protocols, industry standards, and ethical practices
Build and maintain strong client relationships to promote trust and repeat business
Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle
Identify and understand client needs to propose customized, code-compliant electrical solutions
Support business development through client acquisition, negotiations, and project delivery
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and scopes with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure successful outcomes
Maintain a productive and motivated workforce by supporting training, development, and positive team culture
Demonstrate strong leadership through people and performance management
Foster collaboration and open communication within the team and across departments
Provide mentorship while ensuring adherence to Z Modular Power safety and performance standards
Review electrical drawings and perform basic quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment
Provide input for budget development and value engineering where applicable
Utilize estimating tools or platforms (Procore, McCormick, Bluebeam) to support accurate project planning
Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5+ years of electrical project management experience in commercial or industrial settings
Experience managing projects valued between $1M–$6M
Deep knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and ability to interpret construction documents and technical plans
Proficiency with MS Projects, Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam; McCormick Estimating Software experience is a plus
Strong budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and cost-control abilities
Excellent time management, organization, communication, and documentation skills
Skilled in negotiation, customer engagement, and business development
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
Commitment to fostering a safe jobsite culture
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly to multi-state project sites
Regular, full-time, on-site attendance is essential
Preferred
Background in estimating and take-offs is a strong plus
Experience coordinating permitting and electrical inspections preferred
Utilize estimating tools or platforms (Procore, McCormick, Bluebeam) to support accurate project planning
