Director of Planning and Community Development
The American Planning Association Massachusetts Chapter is seeking a highly motivated Director of Planning & Community Development for the Town of Norwell. This role involves guiding planning and development initiatives, managing municipal planning and land-use development, and collaborating with local authorities on community development projects.

Responsibilities
Guide planning and development initiatives for the Town
Develop, direct, organize, coordinate and administer the Town’s municipal planning and land-use development
Approve site plans, affordable housing, redevelopment, and all community development functions and activities
Provide insight and recommendations to the Town Administrator and Planning Board on land use and community development projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, municipal/urban planning, economic development, engineering, or related field
At least five (5+) years of municipal planning experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform essential functions of the job
Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License required
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred
