Lead Platform Engineer, Samsung Ads

The Lead Platform Engineer will drive the design and delivery of large-scale DSP and Reporting systems, leading a team to build scalable, data-intensive products that power campaign delivery and performance measurement.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers to design, implement, and deploy production-grade DSP and reporting systems with measurable business impact
Define scalable, high-performance architectures for data pipelines, reporting APIs, and platform services
Partner with Product, Data, and ML teams across multiple global engineering sites (e.g., MTV, SRIB, SRPOL, HQ) to translate business goals into technical roadmaps, ensure architectural alignment, and deliver high-quality solutions
Work with data engineering teams to develop and optimize large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines
Ensure platform reliability and operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and proactive system health checks
Provide technical mentorship and foster a culture of code quality, performance, and innovation
Develop quick prototypes and proofs of concept to validate new ideas and accelerate innovation
Engage with technology partners and vendors to integrate advanced data and reporting tools into the Samsung Ads ecosystem

Qualification

Required

Master's or PHD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience with a proven record of building and leading large-scale distributed systems (8+ years)
Proficiency in GoLang required; Python and Java preferred; Scala nice to have
Strong experience with big data technologies such as Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce, and SQL
Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
Strong understanding of data modeling, distributed systems, and software engineering best practices
Working knowledge of statistical methods and data-driven performance analysis
Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills with a track record of cross-functional and cross-site influence

Preferred

Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent
Background in digital advertising, programmatic DSP systems, or real-time bidding (RTB) environments
Experience with streaming data systems such as Kafka, Flink, or Kinesis
Prior involvement in large-scale reporting, data warehousing, or ad measurement systems
