Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern - Federal Ammunition

Remington 1816 is a part of The Kinetic Group, a leader in small caliber ammunition design and manufacturing. The Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern will collaborate with teams to identify process optimization opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Assist with time studies, data collection, and statistical analysis to identify process improvement opportunities
Support Kaizen events, 5S activities, and other Lean initiatives
Participate in value stream mapping and process documentation
Help prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations
Collaborate with CI engineers and specialists on improvement projects
Observe and learn Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC) and Lean tools in practice
Hands-on experience with process improvement projects in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Other duties as assigned

Required

Currently pursuing a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
Basic understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints concepts
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Minitab) is a plus

Preferred

Coursework or projects involving Lean/Six Sigma
Experience with CAD or 3D printing
Familiarity with root cause problem-solving techniques
