Responsibilities

Building and managing a leading a team of T-shaped, full-stack engineers of varying experience levels and skillsets

Measuring quality and delivery, contributing and driving improvements, whilst ensuring that we remain skilled, engaged and empowered and that our processes and technology are efficient and fit for purpose

Building new services in Golang and Google Spanner datastore, and supporting microservices written in C# utilizing SQL

Moving from on-prem to GCP hosted infrastructure

Utilizing Kafka to consume data from external providers

Migrating the front-end of the trader apps from WPF to React

Ensuring testing and observability are top of mind

Assisting in driving the provision of a capable, reactive, and motivated and delivery focused team

Enforcing governance of quality, rules, standards and processes to ensure solutions meet Business requirements

Ensuring the development process is conducted in a timely fashion

Planning and tracking works actively, as prioritized by the product, project and development management

Gaining a good understanding of the technical structure, domain and architecture of the systems that the team are responsible for

Identifying and mitigating risk

Removing blockers to delivery

Working through dependencies

Mentoring members of the team and ensuring distribution of knowledge

Inputting developer appraisals and other performance feedback

Required

Commercial experience with leading development teams in the delivery of high quality software applications in client or service side application development

Passionate about working with technology and software development processes and practices

Experience with C#, Golang, Typescript or other server side technologies

Adaptability, with the ability to lead a team to ensure the best outcome for the Business

Experience with mobile technologies

Experience with performance testing

Knowledge of service orientated architecture

Exposure to multiple software development methodologies

Experience with or exposure to Cloud technologies such as GCP, GKE or SAAS

Exposure to generative artificial intelligence and large language models
