Design Supervisor
REAMCO, LLC specializes in designing and manufacturing high-quality switchgear at their Childersburg, AL facility. They are seeking a skilled Design Supervisor to lead their design team in producing electrical and mechanical drawings, ensuring quality and adherence to project schedules.

Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor design team members, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards
Review and approve drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and design documentation for accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with specifications
Manage design workloads, prioritize assignments, and track progress using project management tools
Maintain drawing standards, revision control, and file management systems
Provide technical guidance and assist in complex or high-visibility design tasks as needed
Participate in design reviews and implement process improvements within the department
Support the development and training of junior designers and CAD technicians
Qualification
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Design—or equivalent experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical design, preferably in manufacturing or industrial equipment
Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar)
Strong understanding of drafting standards, engineering documentation, and revision control
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and manage competing priorities
Preferred
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a design environment preferred
Mechanically minded with a deep understanding of how designs translate to fabrication, assembly, and field performance
Strong leadership presence — a driver who proactively identifies priorities, removes roadblocks, and pushes projects to completion
Exceptional communication skills to coordinate effectively between Engineering, Production, and Project Management
Demonstrated ability to coach and develop a team while maintaining accountability and focus
Experience with UL, NEC, or NEMA standards
Background in switchgear, control panels, or related electrical manufacturing preferred
Process-oriented mindset with a focus on continual improvement and standardization
Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment
