Responsibilities
Legal case management
Legal research and writing, including drafting of administrative appeals and circuit court briefs
Negotiate with State Agency representatives, Managed Care Organization staff, and medical providers to resolve Medicaid access issues
Represent clients in the administrative appellate process, including at state fair hearings and circuit court appeals
Participate in multi-sector advocacy efforts to improve Medicaid policies and practices
Participate in community outreach activities and build referral and educational relationships with community partner organizations and medical providers
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the Missouri Bar or eligibility for admission
Experience in legal research and writing
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to represent clients in administrative and court proceedings
Commitment to serving low-income individuals and families
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with community partners and stakeholders
Preferred
Experience in health law or public benefits law
Familiarity with Medicaid policies and practices
Experience in advocacy or impact litigation
Bilingual or multilingual skills
