Mid-level Business Intelligence Engineer

Parser is seeking a talented and skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to build analytics dashboards and deliver high-quality reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will create intuitive dashboards, write high-quality SQL, and collaborate closely with Data Engineering to expose analytics to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy new dashboards in AWS QuickSight, using parameters, controls, calculations, and optimized visual design
Create reusable datasets, calculated fields, and dashboard logic using both SPICE and Direct Query to Redshift
Apply advanced analytical features such as period-over-period comparisons, level-aware calculations, ranking, and user-driven interactive elements
Ensure reporting clarity, performance, and business value, turning business needs into insightful dashboards
Leverage GenAI capabilities (e.g., Amazon Q within QuickSight or other GenAI tools) to speed up development, improve analysis, and enhance user experience
Work daily with the Data Engineering team, consuming prepared datasets primarily from Amazon Redshift
Understand data models and business logic to write efficient SQL queries powering dashboards
Validate data quality and consistency in collaboration with Data Engineering and business stakeholders
Participate fully in team rituals—standups, planning sessions, and ongoing stakeholder discussions

Required

3+ years of experience in BI development and dashboard creation using QuickSight
Strong experience building dashboard in other major tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, MicroStrategy, etc.)
Strong SQL skills and ability to write efficient queries for reporting layers
Experience with Amazon Redshift or similar cloud data warehouses
Solid understanding of data modeling, business reporting, and visualization best practices
Hands-on experience in reporting migrations or transitions is a plus (e.g. from Tableau to QuickSight)
Ability to collaborate with Data Engineering to build reporting on top of pre-modeled datasets (no heavy pipeline work required)
Experience working inside the AWS ecosystem (S3, Athena, IAM, Glue)
Experience with GenAI tools for analytics, BI development, or workflow optimization is highly appreciated
Strong communication skills for working directly with business teams and participating in daily collaboration

Preferred

QuickSight Administration skills: Manage user permissions, groups, and access controls following PF security standards
Configure and maintain themes, namespaces, and user experience settings
Support monitoring of SPICE usage, capacity, and performance
Partner with IT/Cloud teams to maintain environment-level settings and integrations with AWS services (S3, Athena, Glue, Redshift)
Experience with Amazon Q or other GenAI-enhanced analytics assistants
Familiarity with dashboard-level governance, RLS, and user segmentation
Background in high-growth marketplace or consumer-facing tech environments
