InternHoefer Welker is seeking an entry-level, seasonal MEP Engineering Designer. Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the design of MEP systems for various building types and will be involved in project teams from schematic design through construction.
Product Design
Responsibilities
Assist with HVAC load calculations
Size and layout of airside systems
Learn the different mechanical system types and where to best apply them
Assist on the technical design, including lighting calculations, voltage drop, short-circuit calculations, and power/lighting layouts
Assist on the technical design, including all plumbing system calculations and layouts
Learn and apply best practice engineering methods
Learn and apply the process and procedures for coordination with Architecture, Structural, and Civil disciplines
Learn to develop and model 3D systems in Revit
Qualification
Required
Some College Coursework Completed
Basic understanding and willingness to learn and develop applicable codes to all MEP systems and building codes
Current participation as a 3rd or 4th year, a traditional or non-traditional engineering student at an accredited university working towards a bachelor's degree or equivalent
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and meet deadlines
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Personally driven to consistently meet project design and performance goals
Ability to work independently as well as with various disciplines and types of people
Committed to being an effective, contributing team player
