Energy Infrastructure Technical Analyst - Hybrid (Washington DC)

Responsibilities
Assist in the review of technical application materials and concept papers, including pre-screening of related documents for competitive solicitations
Provide recommendations in the development of requirements and evaluation of proposed technical applications
Review proposed project statements, objectives, and budgets
Provide technical expertise and recommendations to ensure active project management
Assist in synthesizing information for decision-making
Offer informed opinions regarding budget changes based on best practices and market conditions
Support technical progress evaluations, quarterly feedback, and risk assessments/mitigation planning
Support the Technical Project Officer to ensure appropriate implementation, installation, and testing of equipment by award recipients
Support Federal staff in collecting, reviewing, and verifying final project reporting
Collect data for program evaluation
Conduct analysis to assist DOE in managing the portfolio of technical projects, including recommending process improvements and innovative technologies and methodologies that can be leveraged
Leverage energy security and technology knowledge to produce quick response and in-depth analysis of cyber and physical emerging risks to the energy sector, and to support the development of impact assessments and mitigation strategies for DOE stakeholders
Disseminate independent assessments, track implementation of recommendations, obtain feedback from programs and/or functional organizations, and routinely provide advice and progress reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, business, or related field AND 5+ years technical experience related to energy infrastructure, including electricity, petroleum, and/or natural gas systems
Experience with energy cybersecurity, energy security, energy engineering, or related fields
OR - Master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, business, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience related to energy infrastructure, including electricity, petroleum, and/or natural gas systems
Technical, financial, and project management experience
Experience supporting a federal client (i.e., Department of Energy, FERC, or DHS) and/or working for an energy company
US Citizenship
Preferred
6 - 10+ years technical experience related to energy infrastructure, including electricity, petroleum, and/or natural gas systems
Defense critical energy infrastructure experience
