Administrative Specialist (ASL Competent)

The State of Nebraska is seeking a full-time Administrative Specialist (ASL Competent) to join the Administrative Team at the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This role involves providing administrative support, assisting with accounting and budget functions, and serving the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office: including answering and directing agency phone calls and greeting visitors
Office duties such as filing, scheduling, working on various administrative projects and providing technical support for the agency
Collects and compiles information and/or data from computers, databases, statistical, accounting, administrative and receiving and processing hearing aid bank applications
Collaborating with administrative teammates on financial duties within the agency: including involvement with accounts payable and receivable
All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification

Required

At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency
The incumbent must be American Sign Language Competent
Knowledge of administrative and office/clerical support and associated computer applications such as word processing, file management, record keeping and database management
Computer programs such as Adobe and Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
This position requires occasional travel
The incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation
Regular and Reliable attendance is required
