Education & Service Excellence Intern
Atlantic Health is one of the leading non-profit health care systems in the nation, and they are seeking an Education & Service Excellence Intern. This hands-on internship supports the Patient experience team by implementing patient experience strategies, responding to feedback, and contributing to practice visits.

Responsibilities
Learn the Extraordinary Caring in Action (ECA) framework and support its application across departments
Assist in the Train-the-Trainer logistics, including preparing materials and coordinating sessions
Support tracking, evaluations, and documentation for education sessions and behavioral-based audits
Learn the full workflow for handling patient concerns, including intake, investigation, and documentation
Shadow patient relations staff to observe de-escalation techniques and empathetic communication
Assist with tracking trends, preparing monthly summaries, drafting follow-up letters, and organizing documentation to support timely case closure
Understand leader rounding practices and site readiness reviews used to proactively assess patient experience
Shadow practice visits and assist in mapping workflows tied to patient experience
Prepare talking points or briefs to support rounding and recognition efforts
Support small improvement pilots that reinforce compassionate communication and staff engagement
Qualification
Required
Applicants must currently be enrolled in a full-time accredited public or private College/University
Current undergraduate student ideally pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Project Management, Nursing or a similarly related field
Be in good academic standing
Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong planning, organizational, and detail-oriented work habits
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
