Metal Final Visual Level II Inspector

The Metal Final Visual Level II Inspector will work independently to oversee the final visual process, improve quality metrics, and assist in problem-solving with Visual Level III, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance to customer visual specifications
Help Visual Level III to identify problems and establish root cause solutions
Communicate daily with the Visual Level 3
Communicate daily with supervision regarding problems, decisions, and flow requirements
Review castings as they are being finished in order to eliminate over and under working. Provide metal finishing employees with feedback on their quality performance
Conduct necessary quality audits both before and after finishing
Request Visual Level III to communicate with wax team and engineering to improve wax related quality issues
Log information and generate data using databases and excel spread sheets
Communicate with engineering on parts with poor process related quality i.e. splits, fins, plus metal. Contact supervisor and engineer
Work to meet or exceed department and plant metrics for quality
Other duties as required
Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations
Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Requires wearing safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, and Metatarsal shoes
Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook)
Report all safety, health, and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner
Attend all EHS training
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items
Using Computers (entering information, etc.)
Must be able to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI)
Must be able to function as a member of a team and be able to work under general supervision
Must be able to maintain expected quality levels
Comply with all site required policies and procedures including but not limited to: EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct, and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook

Floor-to-waist lift and carry, lifting and carrying to the waist high level, carrying items with two hands

Be able to climb ladders and stairs
Moderate lifting > 50 lbs
Good manual dexterity to operate computer equipment and precision measuring instruments
Position may require more than eight hours daily and more than five days weekly to complete work assignments
Squatting/crouching/bending when retrieving stored items from lower shelves and file cabinets, moving equipment / product inspections, etc
Frequently Standing when gauging
Frequent sitting when wall gauging or finishing
Clean work areas and maintain a clean work environment; perform 5S cleaning activities as required
Work requires basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic with the use of fractions and decimals
Must acquire knowledge for acceptable/non-acceptable requirements for castings by interpreting and understanding visual specifications as outlined by our customers and engineers
Ability to interpret moderate engineering detailed drawings
Must be able to perform multiple operations simultaneously
Must be able to teach others the appropriate techniques required to properly finish castings. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
Ability to travel if necessary
Required to pass Level II Proficiency test
Pass written and proficiency test. (finishing)
Equipment Used: Pin gauges, Computer and software, Borescope, Flat gauges, Calibrated wire gauges, Auto scope

Experience working in a manufacturing environment
