Bala Consulting Engineers is a dynamic growth-oriented engineering firm headquartered in Wayne, PA, seeking a strong, experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead their Mechanical Engineering Departments in the Baltimore and Washington, DC area. The role involves serving as an engineering leader, creating engineering plans, managing budgets, and overseeing department activities.

Responsibilities

Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert with the ability to answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering staff

Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by

Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects

Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff

Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors

Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally

Perform department management activities including recruitment, hiring, coaching, and leadership

Qualification

Required

10 plus years' experience in mechanical design

Team supervisory experience

Bachelor's degree mechanical engineering and PE license required

Strong technical writer

Strong knowledge of building codes

Strong interpersonal skills

Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment with the ability to work individually or as part of a team
