Responsibilities

Research, test, analyze, and recommend embedded computer components for existing product support and new product design

Research, test, and analyze hardware drivers, firmware, and BIOS updates for use in existing and future products

Develop and validate computer hardware component requirements

Collaborate with component vendors on new or alternate components, updates and revisions to device elements and field service issues

Provide product manufacturing build support for component and system assembly activities

Record and track computer hardware components for engineering research and quality testing usage

Assist with Windows IoT LTSC installation and HDD image creation

Testing of complete embedded PC systems used in Hunter’s alignment and inspection products

Provide clear communication of technical information to vendors and internal partners

Create and review engineering change notices, variance, and product release documents

Required

An associate degree or trade school degree with 3-5 years of PC Technician experience

Hands-on experience with and knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals

Knowledge and understanding of computer firmware (BIOS and UEFI) and device drivers

Windows desktop installation, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting experience

Experience working on large hardware & software projects within a team-based environment

Good technical writing and oral communication skills

Preferred

bachelor's degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering

Familiarity with relational databases (MSSQL and Azure) and SQL queries

Familiarity with source code management tools like TFS or Git

Bash or PowerShell scripting experience
