Senior Controls and Automation Engineer
Procter & Gamble is seeking a highly skilled and agile Controls and Automation Engineer to join their engineering team at the Kansas City Plant. Responsibilities
Control System Design: Develop and implement control strategies for manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety
Automation Development: Design and program automation solutions using PLCs, SCADA systems, and other control technologies to streamline operations and improve productivity
Intelligent Systems Integration: Implement advanced data analytics, machine learning algorithms, and AI-driven solutions to enhance process control and decision-making
Collaborative Projects: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and maintenance, to identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
System Optimization: Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting of existing control systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
Documentation and Training: Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications and user manuals. Provide training and support to plant personnel on new systems and technologies
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all automation systems comply with industry standards and regulations, promoting a culture of safety in all engineering practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in controls and automation systems
Proficiency in control and automation technologies, including Continuous and Batch Process Control, Instrumentation, Control Logix PLCs, SCADA systems, Motion Control, Vision Systems, Networks, Drives, Sensors, Server/Computing (including Virtualization Technologies), and compliance with applicable Electrical Design Codes
Knowledge of Electrical Safety and Machine Safety requirements
Familiarity with programming standards
Familiarity with manufacturing tools and methodologies, change control, validation protocols, and managing multiple priorities to deliver results in a dynamic production environment
Ability to operate with discipline, maintaining rigorous systems and standards
Practice electrical safety and machine safety
Fluent in English
Capable of setting priorities, developing effective plans, and providing coaching
Effective communication skills to align team leadership and coordinate efforts
Ability to work independently and effectively
