Responsibilities

Supporting overall Project Manager by executing project management responsibilities for respective discipline, including, developing hours estimates, scope, etc
Provide design status updates to the Project Manager
Track the budgets of discipline task(s)
Oversee sub-tasks within their respective discipline for a project
Executing quality control and quality assurance plans as provided by the PMP for project
Delegate project tasks to project team members
Coaching/mentoring design staff through the design process
Provide consultative services to the client(s), including attending client meetings, providing timely updates, and appropriate solutions to meet their expectations
Collaborate and manage project sub-consultants and other internal disciplines
Perform alternative studies, evaluate impacts, develop and finalize reports for client
Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
Design projects using advanced discipline knowledge, client specifications and guidelines using design software and drawing tools
Perform or check design computations
Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
Coordinate with internal team members to ensure alignment and project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
Technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department

Qualification

Professional Engineer LicenseOpenroads DesignerRoadway design experienceMicrosoft OfficeWritten communication skillsPresentation skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
8 or 10+ years' experience in roadway and maintenance of traffic design
Professional Engineer License
Knowledge and understanding of Openroads Designer as follows:
Understanding of horizontal and vertical civil geometry
Understanding of 3D corridor modeling
Understanding of plan preparation and delivery
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Written and communication skills
Presentation skills

Preferred

Experience working with FDOT, local clients at the county and state level
Knowledge and understanding of FDOT project delivery requirements as follows:
Understanding of FDOT Digital QC process
Understanding of FDOT design and quantity applications
Understanding of FDOT Digital Delivery and validation processes
