Responsibilities

Conducts physical, chemical and biological analyses of laboratory samples

Prepares and applies specialized solutions and reagents to tissues or related specimens

Analyzes data using quantitative and qualitative techniques and prepares reports as directed

Performs molecular biology procedures, including DNA and RNA extraction from biological samples, PCR, plasmid amplification, immunoblotting, and immunoprecipitation as needed

Prepares and maintains detailed records, logs, and summary of reports of all procedures and results, including graphs, scientific calculations, and statistical analysis

Supports basic laboratory experiments and assists the lab staff as needed

Maintains the laboratory, orders supplies, and conforms to all regulatory policies

Regular and prompt attendance

Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required

Related duties as required

Required

Bachelors degree in a physical or natural science from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama
