IT Help Desk Specialist

Neumayer Equipment Company, Inc is seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist to provide technical support and ensure seamless technology operations within the organization. The role involves troubleshooting IT issues, managing hardware assets, and supporting networking infrastructure to empower staff efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt and professional technical support to end-users via help desk tickets, phone, email, or remote sessions, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems across various operating systems including Windows and macOS, identifying root causes and implementing solutions
Manage computer hardware assets, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and network devices, maintaining accurate inventory records
Support computer networking infrastructure such as LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, and switches to ensure secure and reliable connectivity
Assist with software troubleshooting for applications like Microsoft Office suite and other enterprise tools; escalate complex issues using ServiceNow or Jira platforms
Maintain IT infrastructure by configuring and supporting operating systems, including Windows and Linux environments
Collaborate with team members on IT projects related to system upgrades, network improvements, and security enhancements

Required

Proven experience in technical support and desktop support roles with a strong customer service orientation
Solid understanding of computer management practices including hardware setup, software installation, and troubleshooting
Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux
Knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN setup, VPN configuration, firewall management, and network security protocols
Ability to troubleshoot software issues related to Microsoft Office applications and other common enterprise software
Experience supporting IT infrastructure components like routers, switches, servers, and BMC Remedy or Jira ticketing systems
Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical solutions to non-technical users
Strong teamwork skills

Preferred

Familiarity with BMC Remedy or ServiceNow for ticket management
