Responsibilities

Prepares complete sets of drawings, which involve multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings of equipment, facilities, or systems where minimal information is provided by rough sketches and/or verbal outlines of requirements. Incumbent utilizes either manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques

Reviews manufacturers' or fabricators' prints for conformance with contract specifications

Determines material needs and makes necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references

Supports field assignments as required

Qualification

Required

High school graduate with vo-tech training in basic drafting technology and typically three (3) years related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience), or a two-year degree in drafting/design technology and two (2) years related experience

Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing manual drafting techniques for a variety of non-routine assignments

Working knowledge of CADD for various standard applications

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

Ability to apply concepts such of basic algebra and geometry

Normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus

Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required
