Responsibilities

Assist in conducting air quality and noise impact assessments, analyses, and modeling
Help develop strategies and mitigation measures to minimize environmental impacts
Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and documentation
Assist with the preparation of regulatory permits and compliance documentation
Participate in field studies and data collection activities related to air quality and noise
Conduct site visits to support monitoring and data gathering efforts
Assist in ensuring that projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards
Stay updated with changes in environmental regulations and industry best practices
Support communication efforts by preparing presentations, summaries, and responses for clients and regulatory agencies
Attend public consultations, hearings, and meetings as needed
Analyze data collected from field studies and monitoring activities
Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other relevant software for environmental analysis

Required

Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmental Planning (or other degree applicable to the planning field)
2+ years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on air quality and noise
Experience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planning
Strong understanding of environmental laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., NEPA, CEQA, Clean Air Act, Noise Control Act)
Strong writing/verbal skills
Working knowledge of GIS/ArcView
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Ability to work independently and as a team

Preferred

American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) Certification Preferred
Experience with NEPA compliance is a plus
