Service Technician Apprentice

Ferrellgas, recognized as one of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies for 2025, is seeking a Service Technician Apprentice. This role involves training under experienced technicians to learn how to install and maintain propane equipment, provide excellent customer service, and prepare for a full Service Technician position upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, assist in installations, repairs, and maintains propane equipment for retail customers
Develops knowledge and trains on how to load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to and from specified destinations
Assists in inspecting vehicles and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance
Under direct supervision, assists in preparing and maintaining records in accordance with regulations and company procedures. Operates truck in accordance to established safety procedures
Under direct supervision, during daily interaction with customers provides exceptional customer service by supplying service/safety information and answering inquires
Will be required to train with team members who are working on call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response as needed
Once qualified, may be required to drive a Bobtail truck base on business needs and/or “On Call” rotation
Performs other duties as assigned
Under direct supervision, may work on propane appliances when needed

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Willingness to obtain Commercial driver's license (Class A or B) with hazmat and tanker endorsement if not currently obtained
Good driving record
Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding the English language
Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa
Employees will be required to sign and abide by our reimbursement agreement

Preferred

Commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or B license with hazmat and tanker endorsement preferred
