Senior Aerospace Engineer
MTC Corporation is a full-service manufacturer of composite and metallic components for Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, and General Industrial applications. They are seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer to lead and develop engineering activities, support new product development, and ensure effective collaboration across various teams to optimize product performance and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
Provides engineering direction and leadership to the engineering team supporting production and new product components, while obtaining optimum productivity, profitability, assessing risks, and maintaining alignment to strategic business goals
Work closely with development, design and sustaining engineering, internal production resources and external vendors to make parts that are designed for manufacturability, reliability, source-ability, etc. to improve the product
Developing or enhancing professional relationships with customers for developing new product requirements, major modifications of existing products, qualification test requirements, and resolving product performance deficiencies
Provide guidance regarding design/manufacturing concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to include standard work
Responsible for providing technical input, and oversight where appropriate, for the teams executing analysis of metallic and composite primary and secondary structure, subsystem integration, durability and damage tolerance, material allowable development, and structural modeling among others
Collaborates, consults, and coordinates with all stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, Estimators, Operations, Production, Quality Control, Finance, Purchasing, and the Program Management to provide timely and qualified technical support to customer needs and requirements
Provide leadership and technical support to internal departments in resolving a variety of complex issues and interpreting drawings and/or specifications
Executes strategy consistent with company goals while identifying and selecting existing and emerging technology applicable to the business
Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers for new or critical processes and addressing obsolescence issues
Assist in reviewing, recommending, or approving contracts and cost estimates and present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients. Consults or negotiates with clients to prepare project specifications
Direct and approve project design, prepare budgets, bids, and contracts, and direct the negotiation of research contracts
Responsible for project coordination, process reviews, process improvement initiatives and oversight for manufacturing projects in support of production operations. Validates design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment
Coordinates engineering releases and changes relative to routings, setting standards, data entry, and follow-up
Responsible for establishing and tracking project schedules, coordinating with outside vendors, partners, and our manufacturing team, as well as preparing reports and providing project status updates
Ensures all work complies with environmental, health and safety standards, industry specifications, customer requirements, company standards, related specifications and protection of proprietary information, risk management and other policies, procedures and processes
Oversees the control of intellectual property per company guidelines
Participates in staff meetings to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and enforced, and when necessary, modified to address changing strategic objectives
Develops, defines, and enhances products and/or processes that promote continuous improvement and quality using lean manufacturing principles and other Operational Excellence tools
Participates in tracking and reporting of key department metrics and process indicators to measure performance and provide opportunities for continuous improvement and to optimize productivity
Participates in investigating, identifying, and reporting the root cause of a variety of complex issues and providing technical solutions and implementation of corrective actions
Develops strategies and drives measurable yield improvement, work floor efficiency improvement, risk reduction, and process control improvement
Ensures work performed meets AS9100 requirements to maintain certification
Ensures work performed meets MTCcorp’s values and company policies are well understood and maintained (e.g., business ethics; integrity; inclusion)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace Engineering
10+ years' experience in Aerospace manufacturing
In-depth technical knowledge of aircraft systems and components required
Self-motivated individual with strong time management skills and project ownership
Must be able to read manufacturing drawings, electrical schematics, and process procedures
Excellent oral and written communication
High level of moral and ethical conduct
Preferred
5+ years' experience managing teams preferred
Strong in GD&T and CATIA (preferred)
Familiarity with ISO, AS 9100, ITAR, and DFAR preferred
Applicant should be skilled in all MS office applications and MRP/ERP environments
